CONASENSE Workstreams
CONASENSE works through lighter, interest-based workstreams that replace the former formally structured working groups. Each workstream works towards a concrete output (white papers, roadmaps and other open-access publications) and is steered directly by the CONASENSE Board, based on calls for interest sent to the community. The four workstreams are aligned with the technical domains of the EU-INDIA-6G-BRIDGE project, which is anchored in CONASENSE.
Register your interest via the CONASENSE mailing list when a call for interest is announced, or email the CONASENSE Board with your interests and affiliation.
Edge-to-Cloud
Edge–Cloud continuum • Energy efficiencyCoordinates expert dialogue on distributed computing architectures for future 6G systems across the IoT–Edge–Cloud continuum. The workstream addresses relevant topics on CEI initiatives and experimental platforms, examines sustainability and energy-efficiency practices, and identifies standardisation opportunities in distributed orchestration and interoperability.
- Distributed orchestration
- Interoperability
- Energy-aware Cloud-Edge-IoT
AI-native Networking
AI-native 6G • AutomationAnalyses AI-native network architectures, with structured expert exchange on intelligent orchestration, zero-touch management, trustworthy and explainable AI, and energy-aware Machine Learning. It identifies research priorities and standardisation opportunities for AI-defined network management.
- Intelligent orchestration
- Zero-touch management
- Trustworthy & explainable AI
Quantum
Quantum preparedness • Hybrid systemsFocused on preparedness: moving from classical to quantum and hybrid classical–quantum systems. The workstream looks at the role of quantum information technologies in future 6G, including quantum key distribution, quantum networking, and quantum-enhanced sensing and timing, addressing interoperability, scalability and hybrid integration challenges.
- Quantum key distribution
- Quantum networking & sensing
- Hybrid classical–quantum
Cybersecurity
Security • Trust • ResilienceCoordinates dialogue on cybersecurity and trust for next-generation distributed, AI-driven and software-defined 6G infrastructures. Topics include secure edge architectures, protection of AI-driven network functions, trust frameworks for distributed systems, and resilience of critical communication infrastructure.
- Secure edge architectures
- Protection of AI-driven functions
- Trust frameworks & resilience
Cross-cutting themes
Three themes run across all workstreams.
Sustainability & energy efficiency
Energy-aware design applied across edge–cloud, AI, quantum deployments, aligned with the existing EU and international visions.
Human-centricity
A CONASENSE view of human-centric 6G covering sovereignty, control, inclusion and accessibility.
Experimentation
Experimentation across countries and continents, connecting European testbeds with emerging international 6G platforms.
